After Dark

New York City's nightlife has always been where subcultures come alive. I've spent years photographing two of its most visually extraordinary communities — the vintage world, where Lindy Hop dancers arrive in period clothing and fill a ballroom with the energy of another era, and the gay South Asian community, where Indian culture and queer identity meet in celebrations that are joyful, colorful, and entirely their own.

These are people who dress with intention and show up fully as themselves. My job is simply to be ready when they do.
