NYC PHOTO WALKS
42nd Street: East to West
Starting with the stunning architecture of Grand Central Terminal, this walk takes you along one of the most traveled streets in the world.
After capturing you within the grand scale of Grand Central we move west, stopping at Bryant Park and the iconic front steps of the Main Branch of the New York Public Library. From there we head into the theater district and on to Times Square.
To get the most out of this walk, time it so you finish up in Times Square at sunset — that's when the lights come up and the whole place transforms.
This route runs through some of the busiest parts of the city, so most of your images will include other people going about their day. I do have a few spots along the way that are a little more private — but be prepared for crowds. Let's be honest, crowds are as much a part of the New York experience as pizza and bagels.
If you want to add something a little more unusual — and extraordinary photos to go with it — consider adding tickets to the Summit, an art installation and observation deck with some of the most spectacular views of the city. The photos you can get there are like nothing else, particularly with a pro alongside you. It requires some advance planning and there's an additional cost, but it's absolutely worth it.
If you want to be captured in the middle of the hustle and bustle of New York City, this is the walk for you.
Specific locations are subject to availability on the day — but after decades in this city, I always know where to go.
