People use the word "elopement" in a lot of different ways, so here's how I define it: an elopement is an intimate ceremony with just the two of you, or a small group of up to around ten guests. There's a ceremony, portraits of the couple, and group shots if you have guests — but no reception. It's focused, unhurried, and entirely about the two of you.
Elopements start at a two-hour minimum. If you'd like to travel around the city — Brooklyn Bridge Park, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, or a neighborhood that means something to you — I can build an itinerary for a session lasting up to six hours. New York City is a remarkable backdrop and we might as well use it.
A wedding, by contrast, involves a larger guest list and a full reception. That means getting ready coverage, a first look, the ceremony, group formals, couple portraits, and all the reception moments — first dance, toasts, cake cutting, and everything in between. Weddings require more planning and coordination, and my packages reflect that.
Not sure which category you fall into? Just reach out and describe what you're envisioning. If it sounds like an elopement, we'll treat it like one. If it's growing into something bigger, we'll plan accordingly.
