I have been a photographer for the last 25 years, specializing in elopements, proposals, engagements, and portrait work of every kind — from family and maternity sessions to vintage, fantasy, and creative character portraits. I also photograph weddings, galas, theater and performance events, and private celebrations across New York City. And I've developed a somewhat unusual specialty: the ability to create a portrait of almost anyone in two to three minutes, which I bring to events across the city as my Portable Portrait Studio.

I'm based in Brooklyn Heights and I've lived in New York City for 45 years. I know this city the way a painter knows their canvas — every neighborhood, every season, every hour of light.

Over the course of my career I've photographed over 1,000 couples — weddings, elopements, engagements, and proposals — of every kind. I'm proud to have photographed more than 250 LGBTQ+ couples, which is probably more than most photographers you'll find. The LGBTQ+ community has always been a significant part of my practice — a natural reflection of who I am and the relationships I've built over decades in this city. All couples are welcome. As a portrait photographer I've turned my lens on thousands of subjects. I have a particular passion for people who seem to live in a different time and place — lovers of vintage clothing, steampunks, burlesque performers, goth guys and gals, cosplayers, and anyone who shows up to a session having already decided exactly who they want to be in front of a camera. My inspiration comes from painters — particularly John Singer Sargent — and from the golden age of Hollywood glamour photography. I bring that sensibility to every portrait I make, whether it takes two minutes or two hours.

• Love live theater and have seen over 500 shows since moving to New York (and have the Playbills to prove it).
• Created my own costume jewelry line, which was featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and Life magazine, among many others, and was sold in hundreds of stores around the world.
• Am a distant relative of Slim Aarons, the legendary photographer who spent his career photographing beautiful people in beautiful places.
