Famous Faces
New York City's performing arts community is one of the most talented and tightly knit in the world. I've spent decades inside it — photographing theater festivals and opening nights, gala fundraisers and cabaret showcases, and small productions that sometimes turned out to be the beginning of something much bigger.
There is something special about having a photograph of someone performing in a 50-seat theater, and then watching them accept a Tony Award a few years later. These images mean something precisely because they weren't taken on a red carpet — they were taken inside the community, at the moments that actually matter.
Over the years that community has occasionally brought me face to face with talent on a somewhat larger scale. A 2-minute portrait session with Morgan Freeman. Jennifer Hudson at a gala. Daniel Radcliffe between shows. Chita Rivera at a theater fundraiser. These are not red carpet snapshots — they are portraits and candid moments made with the same care and intimacy I bring to every shoot.
